Hawthorn is situated on 20 acres of croft land for a peaceful and quiet holiday, and is only 9 miles north of Oban, the main ferry terminal for all the Western Isles of Scotland, including Mull and Iona. Oban Main Ferry Terminal for Mull - Iona, 9 miles.

Tralee beach is a 5 minute walk from the house. Forest walks and bird watching are also found in abundance, also rabbits from your bedroom window.

Oban and District: Easily accessible by car, bus, boat or train; Oban is the Gateway to the isles off the west coast of Scotland. It is also ideally situated in an area renowned for its spectacular scenery. The Isle of Mull is only 40 minutes by ferry from Oban so on a day trip you can explore the island, visit the Abbey at Iona or take a trip out to Staffa and Fingal's Cove.
To the North of Oban are the Sea Life Centre, Castle Stalker in Appin, the magnificent scenery and awesome atmosphere of Glencoe. In fact there are many places to visit in the area, and a wide range of sporting activities are also available, including sailing, golf, cycling, tennis, swimming, pony trekking, sub-aqua, fishing etc.
How to find us: From Glasgow take the A82 toward Oban until you come to Connel (about 6 miles before Oban). At Connel take the left turn on the A828 towards Fort William, which swings around and over the Connel Bridge. Continue for 3 miles to Benderloch, and through the village past the shop and church. Take the first road on the left (South Shian). The Hawthorn is the third house on the right.
