Insh House was a manse built in 1828 and designed by Thomas Telford.
Set in its own spacious grounds, Insh House is now a family run Guesthouse offering the charm and hospitality of a traditional Highland home. Our commitment to provide a good high quality service, whilst minimising the environmental impact of our activities, has enabled us to achieve a silver award in VisitScotland's Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Insh House is at the edge of an extensive birchwood which now forms part of the RSPB Insh Marshes Reserve and only a few hundred yards from Loch Insh with its extensive watersport activities. Kincraig itself is an attractive Highland village within the Cairngorms National Park, conveniently situated midway between Aviemore, 7 miles to the north and Kingussie, 6 miles to the south.
Inverness 40 miles, Perth 75 miles.
Insh House has five bedrooms: one family room with 1 double and 2 single beds, one double room, one twin room and two single rooms. All have en-suite facilities.
The house is centrally heated throughout and for added comfort, all beds are fitted with electric blankets in winter. Tea/coffee making facilities are available in all rooms and a wood-burning stove warms the TV lounge. We ask that you don't smoke in the house.
A full Scottish breakfast, served between 8.00 - 9.00am is available each day in our large wood panelled dining room. We no longer offer dinner, except for special occasions and by prior arrangement only. Food is available most of the year at the Boathouse Restaurant on Loch Insh and at the Suie & Ossian Hotels in Kincraig.
Children: There are reductions for children under 12 sharing their parents' room and there is no charge for babies (cot available on request). Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
Badenoch & Strathspey: Beyond doubt, Badenoch & Strathspey, right in the centre of the Scottish Highlands, offers an unrivalled choice of activities and pursuits for all ages and tastes all year round, in some of the most magnificent scenery imaginable. Whether you wish to make the most of the 'Great Outdoors', just relax in these wonderful surroundings, or spend your holiday touring the rest of the Highlands - from the rugged West coast to the splendour of Royal Deeside - Insh House Guesthouse is always your perfect holiday base.
We also have self catering holiday cottages available.
